Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 5 July 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of SkillGames.AI (the "Platform"), operated by Sentinel Software Limited. By creating an account, accessing, or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

1. About us

SkillGames.AI is operated by Sentinel Software Limited, a company registered in the United Kingdom with its registered office at 19 New Road, Brighton, BN1 1UF, United Kingdom ("we", "us", or "our").

2. The service

The Platform provides turn-based board games and skill competitions where outcomes depend on player decisions rather than chance. Features may include free matches, rated games, challenges between players, friend connections, notifications, and — where enabled and permitted in your jurisdiction — prize competitions using platform credits.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract to use the Platform. By using the Platform, you represent that you meet these requirements. Prize competitions and real-money features may be restricted or unavailable in certain jurisdictions; you are responsible for ensuring your use complies with local laws.

4. Your account

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information or violate these Terms.

5. Skill competitions

Games on the Platform are contests of skill. Results are determined by the rules of each game and the decisions of the players, not by random chance. We do not guarantee any particular outcome, rating, or winnings. Rankings and ratings reflect historical performance on the Platform and may change over time.

6. Free play and prize competitions

Many features are available without payment. Where prize competitions are offered, matches may be run as: (a) free play; (b) a fixed prize wager, where each player buys in an agreed number of credits; or (c) a per-move wager, where each player contributes credits on every move up to a configured limit. Prize features may be disabled in certain regions or for certain users at our discretion to comply with applicable law. Details of stakes, rake, and eligibility are displayed before you enter a prize competition.

7. Platform credits and crypto payments

Platform credits are pegged to a fixed value of one US dollar (1 credit = US$1.00) and are used only within the Platform. Credits are purchased using cryptocurrency (including Ethereum and Monero) through a third-party crypto payment processor; by purchasing credits you also agree to that processor's applicable terms. The amount of cryptocurrency required is calculated at the exchange rate quoted at the time of purchase. Because cryptocurrency prices fluctuate, the crypto value of a purchase or cash-out may differ from other points in time. Network (miner) fees may apply and are borne by you. We may adjust credit pricing, rake, or wallet rules with reasonable notice where practicable.

8. Cash-outs and prize settlement

When a wagered match ends, SkillGames retains 10% of the total prize pool as a platform fee and credits the remainder to the winner. Winnings are valued in cryptocurrency at the exchange rate locked in at the moment the game started — not the rate at the time of cash-out. This protects both you and the Platform from price swings during a game. When you cash out, credits are converted to the corresponding cryptocurrency at the rate that applied when each block of credits was acquired (purchase rate for bought credits; game-start rate for winnings) and paid to a blockchain address you provide. Cash-outs are subject to identity verification and anti-money-laundering (KYC/AML) checks, minimum amounts, network fees, and any limits or holds we apply to comply with applicable law or to prevent fraud. You are solely responsible for providing a correct destination address; transfers to an incorrect address cannot be reversed.

9. Fair play

You agree to play fairly and in good faith. The following conduct is prohibited and may result in immediate suspension or termination, forfeiture of credits, and reporting to authorities where appropriate:

  • Using chess engines, bots, scripts, or other automated assistance during live matches unless explicitly permitted by a game mode.
  • Collusion with other players to manipulate outcomes, ratings, or prize distributions.
  • Operating multiple accounts to gain an unfair advantage or evade restrictions.
  • Exploiting bugs or vulnerabilities; report issues to us instead of abusing them.
  • Harassment, hate speech, or abusive behaviour toward other players or staff.
  • Any activity that violates applicable law or these Terms.

10. Challenges, invitations, and friends

You may invite other users or email invitees to challenges subject to Platform rules. You must not use invitation features to send spam or unsolicited commercial messages. Friend connections and direct challenges are subject to the same fair play and conduct rules as all other matches.

11. Intellectual property

The Platform, including its design, software, branding, and content (excluding user-generated content such as usernames), is owned by or licensed to Sentinel Software Limited. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Platform for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You must not copy, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the Platform except as permitted by law.

12. User content

You retain ownership of content you submit (such as your display name), but grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and process that content as necessary to operate the Platform. You must not submit content that infringes third-party rights or violates law.

13. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Platform available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, games, or the entire Platform at any time. We will use reasonable efforts to give notice of material changes that affect active prize competitions.

14. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Platform will be error-free, secure, or free from viruses. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.

15. Limitation of liability

Subject to Section 13, Sentinel Software Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from your use of the Platform. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) £100, except where a higher limit is required by law.

16. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sentinel Software Limited, its directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your use of the Platform, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.

17. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if continued access would harm the Platform or other users. You may close your account at any time by contacting support. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including fair play obligations, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive.

18. Disputes and governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence give you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.

19. Complaints

If you have a complaint about the Platform, contact support@skillgames.ai. We will acknowledge complaints promptly and aim to resolve them within a reasonable timeframe. Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights.

20. General

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may assign ours in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any game-specific rules, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Platform.

21. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on the Platform and update the "Last updated" date. Where changes are material, we will provide notice by email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
